Each cell in your body needs oxygen for energy and growth. Without it your cells would die. When you take a deep breath, oxygen-rich air sweeps into your lungs where it diffuses into your blood. Through a specialized process, proteins in your blood deliver oxygen to your cells.

The β-Globin Folding Kit© is best used after introducing your students to protein folding and protein structure with the Amino Acid Starter Kit©.

Don’t stress about trying to perfectly model ß-Globin!  Since a model is never an exact replica, have your students focus on creating a model that communicates the key learning objectives of the lesson.  Use the ß-Globin Prefolded Model© as a reference.  Modeling with mini toobers can be an art and science!
