CPK Coloring Scheme

Some of 3D Molecular Designs' mini models and custom models follow the CPK color scheme for distinguishing atoms of different chemical elements. The scheme is named after the molecular models designed by chemists Robert Corey and Linus Pauling in 1952, and improved by Walter Koltun in 1965.

In this scheme:

  • Gray represents carbon
  • Red represents oxygen
  • Blue represents nitrogen
  • White represents hydrogen
  • Orange represents phosphorous

Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions about the CPK color scheme.
