Find information about the contents of your Neuron Modeling Kit© and directions for assembling the pieces so you and your students can start exploring neurons and neural pathways.
This activity guide will help you consider different ways you may use these materials. We encourage you to modify these lessons and activities to meet the learning objectives and needs of your specific students.
Student Handout 1 introduces students to the different types of neurons that compose the nervous tissue that forms the communication system within the body.
Student Handout 2 guides students as they "take a walk" through the nervous system using a road map to the major divisions of the nervous system.
Student Handout 3 focuses on chemical synapses and asks students to determine how excitatory and inhibitory neurotransmitters alter the release of dopamine from the last neuron in a series.
