Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM)

3D Molecular Designs recognizes the growing prevalence of K-12 and undergraduate STEM curriculum that blends science, technology, engineering and math. Our kits and models support learning outcomes of STEM curriculum.

Many organizations in the U.S. follow the guidelines of the National Science Foundation (NSF) on what constitutes STEM. The NSF uses a broad category to define STEM subjects:

Chemistry Mathematical sciences
Computer and informtion technology Physics and astronomy
Engineering Geosciences
Life sciences STEM education and learning research
Social sciences (anthropology, economics, psychology and sociology)




The STEM Education Coalition and other advocates work to raise awareness about the critical role that STEM education plays in U.S. competitiveness and future economic prosperity. They advocate for the strengthening of STEM-related programs for educators and students, and increased federal investments in STEM education. They also support increased funding for basic scientific research, to inspire current and future generations of young people to pursue careers in STEM fields.



Project Lead the Way (PLTW) is a national, non-profit STEM organization that develops hands-on, pre-engineering curricula for middle schools, high schools and community colleges. PLTW aims to increase the number of students entering the STEM workforce by increasing student achievement and motivation in these areas. Our academic partner, the Milwaukee School of Engineering, is a proud affiliate of Project Lead the Way for its engineering and biomedical sciences programs.
