Thank you, Carolina Biological Supply Company, for sharing The Science of Coronaviruses videos, hands-on activities and resources with your constituents! As the first distributor to carry 3D Molecular Designs’ products, we appreciate our long-standing partnership with Carolina.
Thank you also to the National Science Teaching Association for making our materials available to their large membership. We appreciate all the opportunities to connect with science teachers at NSTA conferences.
We appreciate the initial research our colleagues at the MSOE Center for BioMolecular Modeling (CBM) did in identifying numerous scientific journal articles that enabled the development of the above material! We celebrate our 20 years of synergy with the CBM to bring the science of the molecular world to students and teachers.
The CBM would like to acknowledge the support of the National Institutes of Health SEPA program in the creation of these modeling resources.
Teams of middle school, high school and college students use 3D kits and models and computer visualization programs to explore real molecular stories and design and build physical models of proteins.
During workshops CBM staff guide teachers in the exploration of hands-on instructional materials that connect the big ideas of chemistry and biology with stories of current research. Participants also help refine teaching tools that are still in development.
