Exploring the Properties of Water and Cell Membranes
Presenter - Jill Daniels, M.Ed., Geneva School of Boern
Friday, April 1st - 9:30am
During this workshop participants will explore the structure of a cell membrane. Through hand-on model-based learning participants will discover for themselves how structure meets the function of the cell membrane. These engaging models will convert abstract ideas to memorable experiences. Further exploration will be done to reinforce the concept of diffusion and osmosis. To enhance the participants understanding of osmosis, models of water molecules will be used to demonstrate tonicity and water potential.
